Getting to 1 is a free community initiative that connects pregnant people and families to health and social services and provides referrals to community resources.
We utilize data and work with community partners to address preterm births, low birth weight, and infant death in Lucas County, especially among our Black/African American families.
our mission
Our mission is to develop and promote initiatives that improve birth outcomes, especially among Black/African American families.
We believe that every baby deserves to live a healthy life and that no family should have to experience the devastating loss of a child.
our team
TLCHD Maternal and Child Health services aim to improve the health of people of childbearing age, infants, children, and families by connecting essential resources and addressing challenges faced in accessing quality health care and leading healthier lives. We support healthy behaviors that improve overall well-being and address factors related to social determinants of health. Programs supported within the MCH division include home visitation and resource navigation services (Healthy Start, Ohio Equity Initiative, Pathways), and the Cribs for Kids program.
